Footage allegedly captures Iran's missile attack on US warship
ALBAWABA - A clip was posted on X, reportedly showing the first moment of the Iranian missile attack on a U.S. Navy ship in the Strait of Hormuz. An attack which the United States denied.
Two missiles reportedly struck an American Navy vessel near Jask island, the Iranian semi-official Fars news agency said on Monday.
According to Fars news agency, the U.S. Navy vessel was hit by two Iranian missiles after it ignored warnings by the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to stop.
However, a senior U.S. official denied to Axios that a U.S. ship was affected by Iranian missiles.
In addition, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement on X denying the claims regarding a missile attack on an American warship in the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM said via X, "CLAIM: Iranian state media claims that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps hit a U.S. warship with two missiles. TRUTH: No U.S. Navy ships have been struck. U.S. forces are supporting Project Freedom and enforcing the naval blockade on Iranian ports."
