ajansı WAFA’nın haberine göre, oy sandıklarının bulunduğu merkezler yerel saatle 07.00’de açıldı. Yaklaşık 1 milyon 30 bin seçmen, 183 yerel yönetim biriminde temsilcilerini belirlemek üzere oy kullanacak. Merkez Seçim Komisyonu Başkanı Rami Hamdallah, 2026 yerel seçimlerinde oy verme sürecinin Batı Şeria genelinde ve Gazze Şeridi’ndeki Deyr el-Belah kentinde başladığını duyurdu. Hamdallah, Tulkerim kentine bağlı Anabta beldesinde oyunu kullandıktan sonra yaptığı açıklamada, vatandaşları sandık başına gitmeye ve temsilcilerini özgür ve sorumlu şekilde seçmeye çağırdı. Seçimlere geniş katılımın önemine işaret eden Hamdallah, bunun demokratik sürece bağlılığın göstergesi olacağını belirtti. Seçmenler, 491 merkezde kurulan 1922 sandıkta oy kullanacak. Oy verme işlemi yerel saatle 19.00’a kadar devam edecek. Seçimlerde 90 belediye meclisi için 321 listeye mensup 3 bin 773 aday yarışırken, 93 köy meclisi için ise 1358 aday rekabet ediyor. Merkez Seçim Komisyonu’nun gün içerisinde her 3 saatte bir katılım oranlarını açıklayacağı, yarın düzenlenecek basın toplantısında ise nihai sonuçların duyurulacağı kaydedildi. Seçimlerin, 19 Kasım 2025’te kabul edilen yeni seçim yasasına göre gerçekleştirildiği, belediye meclislerinde nispi temsil (açık liste), köy meclislerinde ise çoğunluk sisteminin uygulandığı belirtildi. Oyların sayımının sandık merkezlerinde gözlemciler ve basın mensuplarının katılımıyla yapılacağı, sonuçların tutanak altına alınarak ilan edileceği ve ardından merkezi veri sistemine aktarılacağı ifade edildi.
