By JOE HUTCHISON, US SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 13:21, 18 June 2026 | Updated: 13:23, 18 June 2026 An Oklahoma father managed to keep his cool after a man called the cops on him for taking his two young daughters into a women's restroom.  Tyler Brodsky pulled into a QuikTrip in Alabama while traveling back to Oklahoma from Florida over the weekend when he was confronted by an unknown man.  Brodsky said in a now viral post to his TikTok that he decided to take his girls into the women's restroom, which was empty, over the 'dirty' men's room.  That is when Brodsky said the man came 'barging' into the restroom and demanded they use the men's room instead, which prompted Brodsky to start filming. The man, who was on the phone to police, said: 'There is a man with his two little girls using the women's bathroom, he is washing his hands with his daughter right now.' Brodsky's daughter started crying due to the man shouting, who can be heard saying: 'He is taking his sweet time.'  The man said his wife and her 'very-ill' mother-in-law were waiting to use the bathroom while still on the phone.  A female QuikTrip worker stepped in between the two, closing the door on the man and helping the two girls dry their hands before exiting the bathroom.  'There you go sweetheart', she said as she handed the two paper towels before telling Brodsky: 'I'm so sorry.' Tyler Brodsky said the man, right, barged into the women's restroom and demanded him and his daughters leave Brodsky's daughter started crying due to the man shouting Brodsky continued to film the man after leaving the bathroom with the two men having a back and forth outside.  The man can be heard describing what Brodsky was wearing to the police before adding: 'He's out now, justifying what he has been doing.' In a follow-up video after his original video went viral, Brodsky said that three officers responded to the QuikTrip and told him he had done nothing wrong.  'They ended up showing up very quickly, very professional, very nice, quickly deescalated the situation.  'One of the officers was talking to me and the man and pointed out that taking two little girls into the men's restroom could be viewed just as negatively as me being in the women's restroom with my girls. 'There was ultimately really nothing they could do, they let me know that I was okay, that I didn't do anything wrong.' He also sent his thanks to the QuikTrip worker who he identified only as Melissa, saying: 'We really do appreciate your support and care that you showed us. 'Me being in that situation with them, we really needed that. It's always good to have someone in your corner.' A female QuikTrip worker, later identified as Melissa, stepped in between the two, closing the door on the man and helping the two girls dry their hands before exiting the bathroom Brodsky continued to film the man after leaving the bathroom with the two men having a back and forth outside In a follow up video after his original video went viral, seen here, Brodsky said that three officers responded to the QuikTrip and told him he had done nothing wrong Brodsky said that officers spoke with Melissa before they then asked the man to leave the store.   He added that after everyone had been spoken to by police his two daughters were given slushies by the QuikTrip workers before they got back on the road.  Brodsky finished his video saying that the response to the video showed him that he was not the only one who had faced a similar situation.  'This isn’t about one argument in a gas station. It’s about the fact that parents are often put in situations that aren’t comfortable. We’re simply trying to take care of our children and keep them safe', he said. 'I hope the man that did this will come across this video and realize what he did was wrong and not do it to anyone else.' The ordeal ignited fierce conversations online over whether men should be allowed into women's restrooms with their daughters, or vice versa with mothers in men's bathrooms.  One person commented under the original video: 'As a girl dad myself, I have done the same thing as you. 'Proud of you for keeping your cool and your daughters safe. You’re a great dad and showing them how to handle the situation in a positive manner.' Another added: 'Mom here - you’re always welcome. Keep them safe!'  No comments have so far been submitted. Why not be the first to send us your thoughts, or debate this issue live on our message boards.
