By NATASHA ANDERSON, US SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 12:34, 29 June 2026 | Updated: 12:57, 29 June 2026 A family is desperately searching for a missing six-year-old who wandered off from his sister's Georgia apartment. Ramon Jett, who goes by RJ, vanished without a trace from the Sutter Lake Apartments complex on Webb Road in Riverdale on Sunday morning, Clayton County police said. His family believes he walked out of his sister's apartment around 11am. His mother Ashleigh Harris woke up from a nap around 1pm and realized he was gone, she told WSB-TV. He has not been seen since. 'Very hard not knowing where to look. We've searched everything and just hoping somebody sees him,' Harris told the outlet. 'We're just praying for good news.' RJ was last seen wearing a green shirt, camouflage pants and white socks. He is 3 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 40 lbs. The little boy is nonverbal, which officers say may make him unable to seek help or communicate. His family says he has autism and suffers from ADHD. Police and his family are deeply concerned for his safety, with authorities saying that 'every minute is critical.' Ramon Jett, who goes by RJ, disappeared Sunday morning from a residence on Webb Road in Riverdale, Georgia The six-year-old is nonverbal and suffers from a mental health condition that officers say may make him unable to seek help or communicate The boy's mother was reportedly at work when he wandered off from the apartment. The residence, which is not RJ's typical home, was not equipped with the same safety locks that his permanent home has. 'From my understanding this is not their home,' Clayton County police Major Frank Thomas told WSB-TV. 'They were staying here momentarily, but at normal home they had high locks on doors so he just couldn't open regular handle. But the home here had safety door handles which he was able to manipulate.' Harris said their entire family has just into search mode and is anxiously hoping for RJ to return home. She warned that he can be a 'little standoffish' and urged anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately. 'Call him by his nickname. That might make him more welcome,' she said during an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta. Harris added that her son loves numbers, letters and nursery rhymes, and is 'drawn to stuff like that.' RJ was at his sister's residence in the Sutter Lake Apartments complex when he vanished without a trace on Sunday morning Clayton County police have asked that anyone who lives or is traveling in the Riverdale area to immediately check yards, porches, outbuildings, wooded areas and any other places where RJ may have taken shelter. Officials say it is unclear which direction RJ may have headed after he left the apartment complex. Search and rescue crews were out on nearby Joy Lake around 8pm Sunday looking for the boy.
