The manager confirmed that despite the visible damage sustained during the contest, the injuries were superficial in nature.

"Fabio didn't suffer any concussion. He didn't even suffer any breaks or fractures," Ofo explained.

"All the blood and bruising was just cosmetic damage."

Several medical professionals evaluated the Ipswich fighter after the final bell, with none determining that hospital attendance was necessary.

The father-of-one demonstrated remarkable composure in the immediate aftermath of his defeat, leaning over the ropes to reassure his mother that he was unharmed.

"I am absolutely fine," he said. "I just feel like I have been punched in the face."
