'F*** off back to Worcester!' Moment disgruntled neighbour scales wall and starts shouting abuse at Civil War reenactors in front of the Town Mayor and families

By KATHERINE LAWTON, SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 00:01, 13 August 2026 | Updated: 00:08, 13 August 2026 This is the moment a disgruntled neighbour climbed his garden wall and shouted 'f*** off back to Worcester' at English Civil War reenactors - in full view of families and the Town Mayor.  The event was run by the Worcester Reenactors at St John's House in Warwick last weekend, attracting a large crowd on a green next to residential properties.  The group gathered to bring history back to life, taking part in various activities such as shooting English Civil War matchlock muskets.  But as a handful of reenactors geared up to shoot in front of children, parents and other members of the town - including the Mayor - an elderly neighbour popped his head over the garden wall and began shouting a torrent of abuse.  Footage shows local James McKay, who managed to scale the stone wall, yelling: 'Oi! Oi! F*** off back to Worcester, you're not wanted anymore.'  He continues to swear at the group as they shoot guns, adding: 'You're f****** idiots.'  As the crowd cheers for the reenactors, one person in the crowd says: 'Oh, it's him!' Another filming the incident adds: 'There's children here. You can't be saying that when there's children around.'  Footage shows neighbour James McKay climbing over a garden wall to yell 'f*** off back to Worcester' at Civil War reenactors As the group of reenactors shoot English Civil War matchlock muskets, the furious local repeatedly yells abuse at them  The crowd watches on in shock as Mr McKay aggressively swears at the reenactors  The angry local grabs the attention of one of the reenactors, who tries to speak to him before being furiously shooed away.  Mr McKay is a juror of the local court leet, it is understood, an organisation which upholds English traditions and remains a legal body within English law.  A court leet once acted as local police, and while criminal powers ended in 1977, a few survive ceremonially.  Warwick Court Leet comprises 24 Jurors, including the Bailiff, the Low Bailiff, and the Foreman. Civil War reenactments are held to educate the public, bring history back to life and allow participants to experience a taste of the past.  The free event was promoted by the Warwickshire Museum on Facebook last week, with an advertisement saying: 'Experience the sights, sounds and stories of the English Civil War with the Worcester Reenactors.  'Expect authentic camps, musket fire, drill displays, crafts, period rooms and family-friendly fun.'  It was held on Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9.  The English Civil War lasted from August 1642 to September 1651, and was fought between the Royalists and Parliamentarians.
