topraklarını gasbeden İsrailli yerleşimciler veya İsrail askerleri tarafından Hristiyan topluluklara, ibadet yerlerine ve köylerine yönelik saldırı sayısında artış olduğunu gösterdiğine dikkati çekti. Filistinli Hristiyanlara yönelik saldırılarda, "Hristiyan" olmalarından çok "Filistinli" olmalarının etkili olduğunu söyleyen Lynk, "Bunların hepsi, genel olarak Filistinlilere yönelik saldırılar anlamında endişe verici. Bu yıl, asırlardır ilk kez Kudüs'teki Hristiyan topluluğunun özel töreninin yasaklandığını hatırlatan Lynk, İsrail'in uzun süredir hesap verebilir olmadığını ve Filistinlilere yönelik işgalini cezasızlık ortamında derinleştirmesine izin verildiğini bunun, 750 bin Filistinlinin evlerinden ve vatanlarından sürülmesiyle başladığını belirtti. Bazı saldırıların Hristiyan olmalarından dolayı olduğunu ancak Filistinli Hristiyan topluluğa yönelik saldırıların büyük çoğunluğunun aslında Filistinli olmalarıyla ilgili olduğunu söyleyen Lynk "Bu radikal yerleşimciler, askerler ve İsrail hükümeti, (Hristiyan) Filistinlilerin, Filistin topraklarından kaybolmasını, silinmesini istiyor." diye konuştu. Lynk, Filistin'deki toplulukların başka yerlere göç ettirilmelerine neden olacak şartlarda yaşamaya zorlandıklarını ve kendi toprakları ve atalarıyla olan bağlarının zayıflatılmaya çalışıldığını söyleyerek şunları kaydetti: "Bu, Filistin için endişelenen ve Filistinlilerin kendi kaderini tayin hakkını ve özgürlüğünü görmek isteyen hepimiz için büyük bir endişe. Filistinli Hristiyan topluluklar tüm dünyadaki en eski Hristiyan topluluklar arasında. Filistin kültürünün, Filistin toplumunun çok daha büyük mozaiğinin ayrılmaz bir parçası." Lynk, dünyadaki Hristiyan topluluğun büyüklüğüne rağmen Filistin'deki Hristiyan topluluklara karşı yapılanlara gösterilen tepkinin yetersizliğine işaret etti ancak Vatikan Devlet Başkanı Papa 14. Leo'nun özellikle soykırım döneminde olmak üzere sürekli olarak Gazze'deki Katolik rahibi aramasının ve Gazze'deki Filistinli Hristiyanlara umut vermesinin önemli olduğunu da belirtti. Filistinlilere yönelik saldırıların hem bir endişe kaynağı hem de dünya çapında Filistinlilere gelen destek ve dayanışma mesajlarını görünce de bir umut kaynağı olduğunu anlatan Lynk, "Umalım ki Filistin'i, Hristiyan Filistinliler dahil olmak üzere tüm Filistinliler için korunaklı bir yer haline getirebiliriz." ifadelerini kullandı.
