England bounce back from Australia defeat by breezing past Malawi in Glasgow

England bounced back from their Commonwealth Games Netball defeat at the hands of Australia with a much-needed victory against Malawi in Glasgow.

After Anna Stembridge's side crashed to a 66-47 defeat against Australia in their second group match on Sunday but they bounced back to seal a 73-38 success against Malawi.

England started the match in quick-fire fashion and stretched their advantage to 14 points at half-time with a 37-23 advantage.

They added 18 goals by the end of the third quarter in the Hydro with Sasha Glasgow adding to the Malawian woe.

England, who started their competition in emphatic fashion with an 84-35 thrashing of Northern Ireland, continued the onslaught in the final quarter with London Pulse star Olivia Tchine finishing with 24 goals in the match.

The Vitality Roses are likely to need to beat South Africa in their last group game on Thursday to stand any chance of reaching the semi-finals and keeping their medal hopes alive.
