Elon Musk's trans daughter storms off red carpet after being asked about estranged father
Vivian Wilson, the 22-year-old transgender daughter of Elon Musk, abruptly terminated a red carpet interview in Ibiza on Tuesday after a Spanish journalist raised the subject of the tech billionaire.
The model had been speaking to reporters at a Desigual Vintage event before the conversation took an uncomfortable turn.
"Your father (is) the best, no?" the journalist asked the social media personality, whose mother is Canadian author Justine Wilson.
Appearing stunned, Wilson responded: "My what? Sorry?"

"The best, your father," the reporter repeated, to which Wilson simply replied: "Okay," before walking away and ending the exchange.
Footage of the awkward encounter quickly circulated online, reigniting discussion about the well-documented estrangement between Wilson and the Tesla chief executive.
"She doesn't want to acknowledge the fact that the doors are opening up because of who her father is," one viewer wrote on X.
Another posted: "Have your father be the only reason you are known. Use that to make money. Also, get mad if someone brings him up."

"Why is she famous, again? Respectfully, I’d like to know what she is worth interviewing for?" a third penned.
However, many rushed to defend Wilson, given the model's estrangement from the billionaire.
"I'd do the same if my dad constantly deadnamed me and said I was dead because of the 'woke mind virus,'" one supporter wrote.
Another said: "Why ask her about her personal life when they know it’s an uncomfortable topic for her? Just stop harassing the poor woman and let her live her life on her own terms."

The fractured relationship between the X owner and his child has played out publicly for years.
In 2024, Wilson launched a scathing attack on the tech entrepreneur, describing him as "uncaring" and "narcissistic."
The social media personality accused him of being absent throughout their childhood, telling NBC News: "He doesn't know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn't there.
"And in the little time that he was, I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness."
Wilson also labelled the businessman "cruel" and "quick to anger."
The public dispute first emerged in 2022 when Wilson filed court documents declaring they "no longer wish to be related" to Musk, legally changing both their name and gender.
Wilson later clarified on Threads: "I want to make absolutely clear that I have disowned him and not the other way round."
Musk first addressed the estrangement publicly in 2023, telling author Walter Isaacson that Wilson had become "a full communist" and attributing their political views partly to Crossroads, the expensive private school Wilson attended in Santa Monica.

In an interview with Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson in 2024, the SpaceX founder claimed he had been deceived into approving his child's gender transition.
"I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier," he said, using Wilson's former name.
Musk stated he had been warned that his child might take their own life, adding: "I lost my son, essentially. They call it 'deadnaming' for a reason.
"The reason they call it 'deadnaming' is because your son is dead, so my son, Xavier, is dead, killed by the woke mind virus."
