EastEnders’ Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy) has got herself into a right old pickle, hasn’t she?
After secretly hooking up with local love rat Max Branning (Jake Wood) for the last few months, she recently got engaged to her ex Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), only to then find out she was pregnant.
And of course, in typical soap style, she’s now been left wondering which of them is the baby daddy.
With Ravi in the dark about Priya’s affair with Max, he blindly believes he is the father – but let’s be real, there will be serious consequences for everyone involved if it turns out he’s not.
Knowing this, Priya takes matters into her own hands to try and get to the bottom of her predicament this week.
As the locals hold a donor drive for Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) stem cell transplant at the community centre, Priya spots an opportunity.
She enlists the help of Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) – the only other person who knows of her affair with Max – to obtain samples from both Ravi and Max so that she can secretly get a paternity test.
That evening, Priya and Ravi reaffirm their love together, as she prays that he will turn out to be the father.
Either way, however, it looks like the couple’s future will be short-lived, as it has been claimed that actor Aaron Thiara is set to leave EastEnders after four years of playing bad boy Ravi.
Reports suggest Aaron has decided to move on to other projects, with his character set to depart Walford early next year.
However, this does mean Ravi will likely be around for the events that will build towards the resolution of the New Year’s Day flashforward episode.
And with 2027 kicking off with a mystery gunman holding Max’s kids Lauren Beale (Jacqueline Jossa) and Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) hostage, will Ravi seek the ultimate revenge on his love rival?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 24th August at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
