Earl Spencer shares heartwarming snaps of desert honeymoon in Arizona

Charles Spencer, the 61-year-old Earl and younger brother of the late Princess Diana, has offered followers a snapshot of his romantic honeymoon with new bride Cat Jarman.

The couple wed in a private ceremony on Friday, May 15, exchanging vows against the breathtaking backdrop of Sedona's famous Cathedral Rock in Arizona.

Earl Spencer described the occasion as the "happiest day ever" when announcing the surprise nuptials on social media.

The 44-year-old Norwegian archaeologist wore an unconventional blue Grecian-style gown featuring a plunging V-neckline and flowing skirt, captured in photographs by Caitlyn Jennings.

This marks the fourth marriage for the Earl, following his divorce from Countess Karen Spencer after 13 years together.

The newlyweds chose to remain in Arizona for their honeymoon celebrations.

The couple have been sharing glimpses of their desert adventures on social media, posting footage and images of themselves on horseback traversing Arizona's dramatic canyon landscapes.

Earl Spencer captioned his Instagram Stories video "Honeymooning," set to the track "Desert Roads" by MrQBan, showing him riding through rugged terrain behind his new wife.

His footage captured Mrs Jarman ahead of him on a piebald horse, with a guide leading the way through the sweeping trails.

The archaeologist also documented their romantic getaway, sharing her own perspective from horseback alongside a stunning image of the night sky above the canyon.

Mrs Jarman paid tribute to her husband with a sunset photograph simply captioned "honeymoon," accompanied by the heartfelt message: "Love you endlessly."

The pair's romance blossomed from professional beginnings, with Earl Spencer initially asked to review Jarman's 2021 bestselling book River Kings.

Their working relationship deepened as they collaborated on archaeological excavations and launched the podcast The Rabbit Hole Detectives alongside Rev. Richard Coles.

After approximately two years together, the couple never publicly announced an engagement before their surprise American wedding.

"We both feel so incredibly lucky to have progressed from being colleagues, to friendship, to deep love and connection," the newlyweds said in a joint statement.

"Each stage of our relationship has been underpinned by laughter and we share a passion for life."

Earl Spencer also recalled a friend's observation about Mrs Jarman: "The thing about Cat is, she'd want to be with you if you lived in a hut."

He quipped that she proved equally content to marry him in the desert.

Mrs Jarman was previously married to Tom Jarman and has two sons.
