It said he was "responding well to treatment".Holmes, a veteran broadcaster, joined GB News in 2022 to present its breakfast programme. He had previously fronted shows on Sky News and ITV.In his statement, shared on Instagram, Declan said what happened to his father had come "as a real shock" and he thanked well-wishers for sending messages of support."We'd really value a bit of privacy as we navigate it [sic], and what lies ahead, but thank you again for for the support as it means so much to dad and the rest of the family," he said.The message was posted alongside an image of him with his arm around his father's shoulder.
