Ali Muhyiddin el-Karadaği, Katar’ın başkenti Doha’da bulunan birliğin genel merkezinde AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, Mescid-i Aksa’nın Müslümanlar için ilk kıble ve "Miraç durağı" olduğunu hatırlattı. İsrail’in uzun yıllardan beri Mescid-i Aksa’ya yönelik provokatif adımlar attığını dile getiren Karadaği, bunun bölge açısından ciddi bir tehdit oluşturduğunu hatırlatarak, “İşgalci İsrail, Mescid-i Aksa’ya, Müslümanların girişlerini engellemek için adımlar atıyor, kendi ayinlerini gerçekleştirmek amacıyla keyfi baskınlar düzenliyor. Bu durum böyle devam etmemeli. İşgalci İsrail’in bir daha böyle bir adım atmaması için harekete geçilmeli” diye konuştu Son dönemde Mescid-i Aksa’nın 40 gün boyunca kapatıldığını ve Müslümanların girişinin engellendiğini belirten Karadaği, “Bu süreçte ne bayram namazı ne de cuma namazları kılınabildi. Müslümanlar olarak tepkimiz ne yazık ki yetersiz kaldı” dedi. İslam dünyası liderlerinin İsrail’i uyardığını hatırlatan Karadaği, bunun yeterli olmadığını söyledi. “Mescid-i Aksa’nın hürmetine kimse el uzatamaz. İşgalci İsrail’in bu tehlikeleri adımları karşısında İslam dünyasına harekete geçme çağrısında bulunuyoruz” diyen Karadaği, İslam dünyası liderlerinin bu tehlikeli durumu durdurmak için daha somut adımlar atması gerektiğini vurguladı. İsrail’in Kudüs’teki uygulamalarının bölgenin kimliğini, inancını ve toplumsal yapısını değiştirmeye yönelik olduğunu vurgulayan Karadaği, “Bu artık sadece bazı siyasi söylemlerden ibaret değil, İsrail bu adımları açık ve stratejik şekilde atıyor. Bu çok tehlikeli bir adım” diye konuştu. Karadaği ayrıca, İsrail’in “Nil’den Fırat’a kadar uzanan” bir coğrafyayı kapsadığı iddia edilen “Büyük İsrail” hedefinin gizli olmadığını, bazı İsrailli siyasetçilerin bunu açıkça dile getirdiğini ve bunun İslam dünyası açısından ciddi bir tehdit oluşturduğunu kaydetti. İsrail yönetiminin işgalci politikalarını sürdürdüğünü belirten Karadaği, uluslararası toplumun ve özellikle Birleşmiş Milletler kararlarının dikkate alınmadığını, ABD’nin Kudüs’ü İsrail’in başkenti olarak tanıyan kararlarının da bu süreci olumsuz etkilediğini söyledi. Karadaği, İslam İşbirliği Teşkilatı ve Arap Birliği gibi yapıların açıklamalarının İsrail’i durdurmaya yetmediğini belirterek, “Kınamalar ve açıklamalar yeterli değil. Ekonomik, ticari ve siyasi baskı gerekli. İsrail’i kınamalar durduramaz” dedi. Boykot, ambargo ve diplomatik ilişkilerin askıya alınması gibi adımların daha etkili olacağını ifade eden Karadaği, İslam dünyası liderlerine bu yönde çağrıda bulunduklarını tekrarladı. İslam dünyasının birlik içinde hareket etmesi gerektiğini vurgulayan Karadaği, “Siyonistler gücünü bizim ayrılıklarımızdan alıyor. İslam dünyası bir an önce bir araya gelmeli ve birliğini sağlamalıdır.” şeklinde konuştu. İslam dünyasının dağınık yapısının İsrail karşısında caydırıcılığı zayıflattığını belirten Karadaği, “Bugün vacip olan güçlü olmaktır. İsrail’i Mescid-i Aksa’daki ihlallerden vazgeçirecek tek şey İslam dünyasının birliği ve gücüdür.” ifadelerini kullandı. İslam ülkelerinin birlik sağlaması halinde İsrail’in mevcut politikalarını sürdüremeyeceğini savunan Karadaği, “57 İslam ülkesi ve iki milyarı aşkın Müslüman nüfus birleşirse İsrail bugünkü adımlarını atamaz.” dedi.
