Dubai Police saves Dh367 million by cutting bureaucracy by 75 per cent

Dubai Police’s “On the Go” initiative has generated operational savings worth Dh367 million, reduced service procedures by 75 per cent and cut processing times by 99.5 per cent, officials announced on Wednesday as the force accelerated efforts to eliminate bureaucracy and deliver faster digital services across the emirate.

The initiative also reduced operational costs by 78.2 per cent, while the number of required documents and conditions dropped by 71.4 per cent, according to figures presented during the “On the Go” Initiative Forum held at the Dubai Police Officers Club.

Officials revealed that services that previously required four procedures, seven documents and several working days can now be completed in a single step within just two minutes through streamlined smart systems.

Dubai Police said the programme was launched to simplify procedures, shorten customer journeys, eliminate unnecessary requirements and support the UAE Government’s Zero Bureaucracy Programme.

The initiative has so far benefited 7,762 people through services delivered across 158 petrol stations and locations in partnership with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), and Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat).

Statistics presented during the forum showed that members of the public submitted 3,981 minor traffic accident reports digitally through participating petrol stations, alongside 1,375 reports against unknown parties.

Dubai Police also revealed that 2,013 lost items were successfully returned to their owners through the initiative, while 296 reports were submitted through the Police Eye service and 97 cybercrime reports were filed through the e-Crime platform.

In addition, 1,011 accident-related reports were transformed and processed through the new smart system introduced under the programme.

Officials added that customer transaction costs were reduced from Dh650 to Dh420, while total operational costs dropped from Dh1,927 to Dh420 after procedures were simplified.

Dubai Police said the initiative delivered broader operational and social benefits, including improving response times for security patrols, reducing the number of visitors to service centres, increasing public happiness levels and strengthening the public’s sense of safety and security.

The programme also helped expand security coverage across Dubai and strengthen partnerships between the government and private sector.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, attended the forum alongside Major General Dr Ahmed Zaal bin Kreishan Al Muhairi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs, assistant commandants, directors of general departments and police stations, Hisham Amiri, Executive Director of the Zero Bureaucracy Programme, representatives of fuel supply companies, and senior officers and officials.

Captain Majid bin Saed Al Kaabi, Head of the “On the Go” initiative team, said the programme reflects Dubai Police’s vision of enhancing policing and government services through innovative solutions that improve community happiness and reinforce safety and security.

He said the initiative currently offers eight key services, including minor traffic accident reporting, reports against unknown parties, lost-and-found services, services for people of determination, labour complaints, vehicle repair requests, the Police Eye service and the e-Crime platform.

Officials also revealed that 23,816 indviusal  benefited from related training programmes and activities aimed at supporting customers and improving service delivery.

The forum featured specialised workshops on traffic laws and road safety, the initiative’s role in reducing bureaucracy, community volunteering and awareness about Dubai Police services.

Dubai Police also showcased innovation tools introduced under the programme, including AI-powered chatbots, recognition certificates and a new “Bureaucracy Hero” award aimed at encouraging employees to develop faster and smarter service solutions.

Officials said the “On the Go” initiative reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to proactive digital transformation and improving quality of life by delivering faster, easier and more efficient services for residents and visitors.

At the end of the forum, Lieutenant General Al Marri honoured Hisham Amiri, representatives of fuel supply companies, distinguished contributors and members of the initiative team for supporting the success of the programme and strengthening cooperation in delivering proactive community services.
