Rather than leaving these seats unfilled, the colleges are now being allowed to consider applicants directly on the basis of their Class XII marks for specified programmes. The move gives students who may not have secured a seat through the regular CUET process another opportunity to enter Delhi University. At the same time, the exception has raised questions about consistency and fairness, particularly because CUET remains the standard route for DU undergraduate admissions.
