Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had initially given PSG the lead after cutting inside from the left and wrong-footing Marco Bizot with his well-taken effort (20) but a goal on his professional debut for 17-year-old Brian Madjo sparked Villa into life.
The forward became the youngest player to score in the Super Cup after shrugging off the challenge from Willian Pacho to volley the equaliser home and arguably should have had more to his name, having seen three other chances sail just wide of the target.
Villa were without key players Ollie Watkins, Ezri Konsa and Emiliano Martinez due to their extended post-World Cup breaks but the gaps left by senior players provided the likes of Madjo and 19-year-old George Hemmings with a platform to shine.
The two teenagers looked at home amongst world-class opposition and the latter came close to responding to Doue's strike seconds after Villa conceded, only for Matvey Safonov to make a fine stop to deny him.
Luis Enrique's side would hold on to start the 2026/27 campaign with silverware but they were given an almighty scare by Unai Emery and his new-look squad, in a similar fashion to the 5-4 thriller that played out in the Champions League when the sides last met in 2025.
