Liverpool were dumped out of the FA Cup in a 4-0 hammering by City on April 4 - and Szoboszlai's behaviour post-match sparked a backlash among fans.‌There were 8,000 Liverpool fans in attendance at the Etihad Stadium to witness Erling Haaland's hat-trick in a thoroughly dispiriting performance for the away side. Mo Salah's missed penalty added to the misery for Reds supporters, who made their feelings clear after the full-time whistle.‌Those who had stayed behind could be heard booing Arne Slot's side, much to the frustration of Szoboszlai. The midfielder was seen remonstrating with the away fans by waving his arms and shrugging his shoulders before being pulled away by Federico Chiesa.‌His actions didn't go down well on social media, where some labelled him "arrogant" for supposedly believing he is above criticism.
