By VICTORIA CHURCHILL, US POLITICAL REPORTER Published: 22:05, 3 June 2026 | Updated: 22:17, 3 June 2026 Scandal-plagued Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner was run out of Washington by reporters this week after a former aide revealed that he had texted women in a sexual manner while being married to his wife. That latest damning revelation unearthed even more eyebrow-raising accusations about Platner, including the existence of a profile of the social messaging app Kik, which has been described as a sexual 'predator's playground.'  His profile on the app showed him shirtless, wrapped in a towel. Platner has not denied the texts or the profile, describing the stories as 'gossip' and reaffirming 'a very happy marriage.'  As scrutiny around Platner skyrockets, the spotlight is also turning on those around the oyster farmer, including one man who claims he helped create the candidate.  Daniel Moraff, a political operative who says he drove to Platner's door, girlfriend in tow, and talked him into running for Senate, is facing fresh scrutiny over a history of eyebrow-raising internet activity. As a revolving door of staffers has fled the Platner camp, Moraff's LLC, Dark Forest, still appeared on the campaign's last FEC disclosure as recently as mid-March.  One former staffer even described him to Politico as a 'de-facto campaign manager' amid a staff exodus last fall - a claim Moraff has denied.
