The Athletic has live coverage of the 2026 NFL Draft.The Detroit Lions, after trading with the New York Jets to move up six spots, made Michigan edge rusher Derrick Moore the 44th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday. The Lions sent the 50th pick and and No. 128 to the Jets.A two-year starter at Michigan, Moore played field defensive end (mostly stand-up) in former defensive coordinator Wink Martindale’s four-man front. His impact and production increased each season, and he led the Wolverines in tackles for loss (10.5), sacks (10) and forced fumbles (two) as a senior. While part of a heavy rotation (averaged 36.7 defensive snaps per game), he was one of the FBS’ most efficient pass rushers in 2025 — he registered a pressure on 17.5 percent of his pass-rush snaps (No. 1 in the Big Ten, No. 17 in the FBS).
