Her claims are backed by Colgate, which says cheese can help strengthen teeth and bones thanks to its high calcium content.‌Not only that, but it may also help reduce tooth decay and staining by increasing the pH level in your mouth.‌It can also help balance harmful bacteria with beneficial probiotic bacteria found in foods like yoghurt, and even assist in scrubbing away food and stains - particularly with harder cheeses like parmesan, romano and gouda.When it comes to apples and celery, their crunchy texture can help stimulate saliva production, which plays a key role in protecting your teeth against decay.The same goes for carrots and nuts, with Colgate adding: "All of them help assist in your saliva-making ability.
