Delivery driver slapped with DUI after crashing into Colorado home while working

Published: 07:12, 11 May 2026 | Updated: 07:22, 11 May 2026 A delivery driver is facing a DUI charge after ramming his vehicle into a Colorado home while under the influence, police said.  The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the South Metro Fire Department were called to the scene of the crash on Wedgewood Drive in Highlands Ranch, south of Denver on Sunday, where they found a red Mazda almost entirely inside the home. Shocking photos shared online showed the vehicle had come to a stop between two couches, with the drivers' side door just feet away from a piano. The crash left a massive hole in the side of the home. Nobody was hurt in the crash Authorities said the crash came after the driver fell asleep at the wheel while delivering packages. The driver, whose identity has not been released, is now facing charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving, CBS News reports. 'We're grateful this incident did not end in tragedy,' the sheriff's office posted online, after joking it was 'not exactly the kind of "fast delivery" anyone wants.'
