Kuwaiti power, water desalination plants attacked

Two of Kuwait's power and water desalination plants were targeted by Iranian drones, resulting in significant material damage and the shutdown of two power generation units.

No injuries were reported, according to the country's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. The ministry added that technical and emergency teams are working to ensure the continuity of services.

US and Iran exchanged threats as the end of US President Donald Trump's 10-day pause in strikes on Iranian energy plants looms ahead. The US President warned that Iran has 48 hours "before all hell will reign down on them".

He said the country must make a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran central military command brushed aside Trump's threat, with General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi calling the ultimatum "a helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid action", AFP reported.

Iran also warned the US and Israel that the "entire region will become a hell for you" if escalation continued, according to Iranian media reports.
