Councillor Darren Grimes has hailed GB News’s “absolutely transformational” role in being a voice for Durham’s half a million people.
The Deputy Council Leader celebrated how The People’s Channel’s role “gets outside of the biggest metropolitan centres” to represent those from all around the UK.
“GB News has been absolutely transformational to the media landscape as far as actually giving a voice to people,” Mr Grimes said.
“There are half a million people who live in Durham, and those half a million people have not felt that they have had a voice when it comes to actual choice in the media landscape.
“GB News has given people that genuine choice to hear their own views and voice, dare I say, reflected in the media.
“It is so important for TV channels to get outside of the biggest metropolitan centres of the country and actually come to places that perhaps don't have the big skyscrapers in the likes of Manchester and London.”
