Dar meets Chinese ambassador to discuss developments following 'Islamabad Talks'

"Both sides reaffirmed the strong Pakistan–China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership," the ministry concluded. Separately, Dar also chaired a meeting with Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and other officers of the foreign ministry, to commend their hardwork, commitment, and professionalism during the "Islamabad Talks". Senior leaders from the United States and Iran arrived in Islamabad on Saturday for high-stakes negotiations that followed a devastating six-week war that left thousands dead and pushed the global economy to the brink of recession. Although no agreement was reached, Pakistan's role in bringing both the US and Iran to the negotiating table has garnered praise from both countries and beyond. In the aftermath of the negotiations, US President Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social that the meeting took place "through the kind and very competent leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan,” describing them as “extraordinary men”. The Iranian delegation also extended its appreciation to Pakistan, with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei expressing their gratitude for Pakistan facilitating the talks.
