The video showed a car passing too close to him in Menston, near Ilkley. But police said he also exposed himself 'riding without due care and attention' as he cycled too closely to a parked car and an oncoming vehicle.  The force said he should have slowed down or unclipped from his pedals. He was made to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court and pay £1,200 in fines and fees.  The force said the distance he gave was 'significantly less than the car he reported earlier had given him'. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: 'It is important that all road users are aware of The Highway Code, are considerate to other road users and understand their responsibility for the safety of others. 'Whilst the cyclist was in the wrong on this occasion, there are plenty of cyclists on our roads who obey the highway code and ride responsibly.' Officers in Nottingham seized 60 bikes and e-scooters after people in the city raised concerns about them being ridden through pedestrianised areas. Thirty eight offenders have also been prosecuted, with some being fined up to £1,000 and receiving eight points on their driving licence, police said. Legally electric bikes should be limited to 15.5 mph and have a motor power of no more than 250W. Non-compliant models are classified as motor vehicles, requiring insurance, taxation and a valid licence. Officers have been using a compact dynamometer to test the top speed of e-bikes in order to catch those failing to comply with the law. Among those tested, less than a quarter were found to be legally compliant, Nottinghamshire police said. One was found to reach a speed of 72mph during testing and was seized.
