Cowboys vs. Ravens set for first game in Rio de Janeiro this season

On Friday, their opponent was revealed: the Baltimore Ravens. The game in Brazil will be the first of three NFL regular-season matchups over five years. It will be played at Maracanã Stadium. The matchup will take place in Week 3 on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 4:25 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+ and will be a home game for Dallas. This will be one of a record nine international games scheduled for the 2026 season, which will take place across four continents in seven countries. The NFL has already established a presence in Brazil, offshoring games to São Paolo in 2024 and 2025 that successfully drew large crowds of international fans. Dallas will play its first international game since it beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-17 in 2014 at Wembley Stadium in London. The Ravens’ previous international game came in 2023 when they defeated the Tennessee Titans 24-16 at Tottenham Stadium in London. The Ravens (8-9 in 2025) and Cowboys (7-9-1) both missed the playoffs last season. The game marks the first time an American football game is played in what is typically the home pitch of several of Brazil’s soccer clubs, including Rio’s wildly popular and historic Fluminense and Flamengo teams.
