Cowboys 7-round 2026 mock draft: A bold trade to get defender they need

The Dallas Cowboys have eight picks in this week’s NFL Draft and the majority of them are expected to be used on the defensive side of the ball. We took it a step further and spent every one to help fix what was probably the worst defense in franchise history last season.Using the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator, here is our final Cowboys mock draft:Round 1, No. 6 overallSonny Styles, LB, Ohio StateDallas enters Thursday night with two first-round picks, No. 12 and No. 20. However, in this mock draft, they use both to trade up and get their guy. Inside linebacker is clearly the Cowboys’ biggest need. They don’t necessarily have to reach to fill that void, but this trade made too much sense. Dallas gave up 12, 20 and 152 (fifth round) and received No. 6 and No. 39 overall in return.
