By JOE HUTCHISON, US SENIOR NEWS REPORTER Published: 15:30, 10 August 2026 | Updated: 15:52, 10 August 2026 An Instagram and OnlyFans model will spend just two years behind bars after she admitted to being responsible for the death of her boyfriend in 2022.  Courtney Clenney, 30, was facing second-degree murder charges over the stabbing death of her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, 27, in their luxury Miami apartment.  In court on Monday, prosecutors and her attorneys revealed details of a plea deal that saw Clenney agree to a charge of manslaughter with a deadly weapon.  The court also heard that the state was seeking to have Clenney imprisoned for six years; she has already spent four years behind bars while awaiting trial.  Judge Andrea Ricker Wolfson subsequently sentenced Clenney to six years behind bars with time served, followed by five years probation.  Christian's mother addressed the courtroom after the sentencing saying: 'There is simply too much pain to put on paper. 'Four years later there are still nights when I cannot sleep. I do not want Christian to be remembered only for how he died.  'Christian was my son, everyone who knew Christian can attest that he was kindhearted, compassionate, friendly and respectful. Courtney Clenney, seen here on Monday, was facing second-degree murder charges over the stabbing death of her boyfriend Christian Obumseli Clenney alleged that she was in an abusive relationship with Obumseli, and maintained in previous court filings that text messages and witness testimony would show she feared for her life 'Nothing can describe what it feels like for a mother to stand at the grave of her child.  'For more than four years we've lived with the loss every day and waited for accountability. 'Today closes a legal chapter, but it certainly doesn't close our grief. No sentence, no plea can bring back my son to me.' As she addressed the court room, Clenney was seen wiping tears from her eyes with a tissue. Bodycam footage of the model covered in blood moments after stabbing Obumseli captured national attention, as she claimed she threw a knife at him in self-defense after fearing for her life.  Clenney admitted to stabbing Obumseli but claimed she did not intend to kill him, and in the footage she was seen on the floor sobbing, 'baby, baby, baby, wake up.' While talking to police as paramedics tried to save Obumseli, she told them: 'I'm terrified of him' and 'I was so scared,' the footage showed.  Clenney alleged she was in an abusive relationship with Obumseli, and maintained that text messages and witness testimony would show she feared for her life.  The model, who had used the name Courtney Tailor on platforms like Instagram and OnlyFans, filed court records earlier this month asking jurors to consider the defense's account of Clenney and Obumseli's relationship in the case.  The family of Christian Obumseli are seen here after sentencing was passed down Clenney was seen wiping tears from her eyes with a tissue during Monday's proceedings The legal filing showed she planned to bring a pair of domestic violence experts to the stand, as well as text messages that she says proved she was being abused.  One of the proposed messages showed that Clenney accused her late boyfriend of hitting her 'in my face as hard as you could', the New York Post reported. In response, Obumseli didn't appear too fazed, telling Clenney that he was only trying to move her hand and 'really didn't mean to,' according to the outlet. The defense had also planned to introduce witnesses to the alleged abuse and images of Clenney with visible injuries.  In previously released bodycam footage, police were seen entering Clenney and Obumseli's Miami apartment at around 5pm on April 3, 2022.  Clenney was covered in blood, but when officers told her to step away from Obumseli, she pleaded: 'I can't let this happen... it wasn't me.'  As she was handcuffed, she added: 'I am covered in his blood because I was trying to save him... I need him, he was my other half.'  Clenney admitted to stabbing Obumseli but claimed she did not intend to kill him in horrific bodycam footage captured by officers who responded to the scene  Clenney is pictured here inside Miami Dade Criminal Courthouse in February of 2024 Clenney had used the name Courtney Tailor on platforms like Instagram and OnlyFans  In the background of the footage, Obumseli could be heard still alive, as he cried out: 'I can't feel my arm.'  Clenney was arrested and booked into custody, and Obumseli was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.  Graphic case photos have revealed she stabbed her much larger boyfriend inches above a tattoo of her name in cursive on the left side of his chest. While Clenney has argued that she acted in self-defense, attorneys representing Obumseli's family have rejected that claim and said he was the victim of domestic violence at the hands of the model.  But the medical examiner who performed the autopsy on Obumseli said his wound could not have been caused by a knife thrown from that distance. Her parents, Kim and Deborah Clenney, were previously taken into custody for breaking in and stealing Obumseli's computer – but were later released.
