Controversy over Iran’s mysterious 10-ship gift to Trump

ALBAWABA - In response to what he called a "gesture" from Tehran over ten oil tankers flying the Pakistani flag, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that Washington had extended the deadline for current discussions with Iran to April 6.

The prolongation coincides with increased diplomatic efforts spearheaded by regional mediators like as Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey. However, given the stark differences between the sides and the quickly changing nature of the battle, many are still pessimistic about the possibility of coming to a near-term compromise.

Iran reportedly offered five counterconditions in response to the United States' 15-point plan to end the conflict. These include recognizing its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, collecting reimbursement for damages, stopping military actions against its regional allies, stopping military attacks and targeted murders, and gaining guarantees to avert future confrontation.

Tehran has not publicly asked for an extension or promised to halt attacks on energy facilities, according to mediators, despite continuing talks. According to The Wall Street Journal, a definitive answer to the U.S. request has not yet been provided.

Differing Viewpoints

Meanwhile, Washington and Tel Aviv are apparently at odds over important aspects of the proposed framework. Israeli authorities have stressed that more time is required to carry out military strikes aimed at key locations in Iran.

Iran can continue its missile activities for several weeks, according to security sources, which makes efforts to achieve a truce much more difficult.
