John Fisher / Getty Images Share article20The Cleveland Browns entered the 2026 NFL Draft on Thursday with nine picks over the three-day event. But before their first selection at No. 6, they traded with the Kansas City Chiefs to move back three spots to No. 9 while also adding two additional picks, No. 74 in the third round and No. 148 in the fifth. With the No. 9 selection, they took Utah offensive lineman Spencer Fano. They then used their second first-round pick (No. 24) on a wide receiver, Texas A&M’s KC Concepcion. The Browns need help at multiple positions, most of them on the offensive side. They filled two of their needs in the first round. In a different draft class, the Browns would likely be connected to a first-round passer. But that search might be pushed to 2027, and general manager Andrew Berry views this draft as an opportunity to accelerate a rebuild and maximize the premium picks the Browns hold. Keep coming back here throughout the draft for grades and analysis of each Browns selection. The Browns have plenty of tackles, but none of them stand out — until now. Fano, whom Brugler graded as the top offensive tackle, will step in as an immediate starter. The only question is which side, and who is going to play left tackle? Fano won the Outland Trophy as the nation’s top interior lineman and was a unanimous first-team All-American. Fano (6-foot-5 1/2, 311 pounds) largely played right tackle, where he had 25 of his 36 starts. His arm length (32 1/8 inches) is a concern, especially if he gets a look on the left side. But he’s physical and will be a great asset as a blocker in front of last year’s running back duo of Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson. The Browns improved at a need position for the right value. — Scott Dochterman Fano has the feet, demeanor and recovery balance of a starting NFL tackle. He also has a knack for losing slowly, despite possessing average length and core strength. He has the talent to be an immediate NFL starter at right tackle or guard. When Utah needed a yard, it ran behind No. 55; he projects as an immediate starter. Browns select Spencer Fano, OT from Utah, with No. 9 pick in 2026 NFL Draft Concepcion’s ability to go from 0 to 60 in a hiccup is unmatched in this class. He moves like a jet ski on smooth water, in a straight line or in and out of breaks. A terrific athlete in space who can make tacklers look silly after a catch or on a kick return, Concepcion is one of the most electric playmakers in this class. He’s also small at 5-foot-11, 196 pounds and has had major drop issues throughout his career. His role is going to be limited offensively in the NFL, and while you should be able to get special teams juice here, your quarterback is going to need to be much better than Cleveland’s current situation to make this pick really sing. — Nick Baumgardner Concepcion must cut down on the drops and fine-tune areas of his game, but he is a versatile playmaker with an innate feel for getting open before the catch and creating after it. He has the receiving talent to become a starting slot or Z while also providing value as a punt returner. Needs work at the edges, but has the versatility and talent to be a starting slot receiver. Browns select Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion with No. 24 pick in 2026 NFL Draft The question here isn’t with Concepcion, who can be the receptions leader on several teams. The question is two-fold 1) who is the Browns’ starting quarterback, and 2) will Concepcion see the volume to consistently succeed in fantasy? Harold Fannin Jr. is a significant piece, Jerry Jeudy is still there, and this looks to be a run-heavy approach, especially with Todd Monken. Concepcion is a mid-late first-rounder in dynasty, but for 2026/redraft, he’s a WR4/5, albeit with a ceiling in the WR3 tier. — Jake Ciely The Browns continue to remake their wide receiver room in organic fashion, and they picked up a tall, big-body threat in Boston, who is different in style and size from Concepcion. Boston (6-foot-4, 212 pounds) caught 125 passes for 1,715 yards and 20 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Boston possesses strong hands that enable him to make contested catches, and he’s a willing blocker. Boston has some qualities reminiscent of former NFL receiver Anquan Boldin. — Dochterman Boston builds his speed with smooth, long strides and naturally adjusts with the hand strength of a ball winner, which should quickly earn him the trust of an NFL quarterback. With his ability to win inside or outside, his game has shades of 2025 Houston Texans draft pick Jayden Higgins. Makes up for lack of top-end speed with strong hands and large catch radius. Browns select Denzel Boston with No. 39 pick in 2026 NFL Draft The Browns look to be set with their future WR duo, pairing Boston with Concepcion. While both could be yearly top-30 options in future years, it’s hard to see either in that range as rookies. Concepcion will carry the receiving volume, and Boston will carry the bigger plays and touchdowns. With Fannin’s breakout and Jeudy still lingering, both are merely late-round fliers, with Concepcion a back-end Round 1 dynasty pick now, and Boston early Round 2. — Ciely Spot the pattern.
