Cleaner unearths 35-year-old Mars bar hidden in hoarder's house - and it looks GIANT due to 'shrinkflation'

But based on this brazen case of shrinkflation, one is unlikely to sustain you much past lunchtime these days. Cleaner Victoria Gordon was tidying a home when she uncovered a 35-year-old Mars bar – which looked gargantuan. The 44-year-old, from Lincoln, decided to go and buy a bar currently on sale to compare the two – and was shocked by just how different the sizes were. Ms Gordon said: 'Even though I knew it was big, I was surprised when I bought one to compare.  'It is a shame really. While I do totally understand inflation, shrinkflation is a bit of a swizz, as my mum would say. The size difference was greater than I expected.' She discovered the item while on a job in North Lincolnshire this week. Her cleaning business works on crime scenes, post-death clean-ups, hoarded houses and other biohazard cleaning sites. In 1991, a Mars bar cost between 25p and 30p, now it will set you back £1.20 – for much less chocolate.  A cleaner from Lincoln has discovered a 35-year-old Mars bar which looks gargantuan compared to its modern day equivalent Victoria Gordon, 44, discovered the chocolate bar while tidying a property. She says finds like this are the best part of her job A standard-sized bar back then weighed 65 grams – while today's is around 40 grams. The older version was 14cm long, but its modern equivalent is just 9.5cm. Despite being shocked by the discovery, Ms Gordon revealed finds like this one are the best thing about the job. She told digital culture magazine creatorzine.com: 'My absolute favourite part of the hoarder clearances are finding treasure like that. I find so many old and vintage things. I find it fascinating.' Ms Gordon shared the clip online, racking up over 700,000 views. She said: 'I have had videos go viral before. Hoarder houses are always popular but I am surprised how this has taken off.'
