Published: 00:02, 24 July 2026 | Updated: 00:02, 24 July 2026 On 26th June 2026, an article about Kate Ferdinand may have suggested that Mrs Ferdinand had been unkind to Rio Ferdinand's children when she first became their stepmother, and that she had promoted a false image of her family. While Mrs Ferdinand has spoken openly about the challenges of blended family life, we are happy make clear that she was not unkind to the children and this openness was not evidence of dishonesty. We apologise if a contrary impression was given and for any upset caused.
