Christian Eriksen will have particular reason to tune in when two of his former employers go head-to-head in the Premier League on Monday evening. Manchester United welcome Brentford to Old Trafford, with the midfielder having turned out for both clubs. Eriksen departed United last summer and has since issued a scathing verdict on former boss Ruben Amorim . The Portuguese manager failed to make his mark at United and departed in early January. Just days prior to Amorim's departure, Eriksen hit out at certain remarks made by the manager. The boss was publicly critical of his squad, branding them the 'worst team' in the club's history . "That didn't help. Yeah, that didn't help at all. I mean, that was not ... I don't think that helped the players at all," Eriksen told the Sunday Times back in December. "Some stuff you can say inside and it's not too clever to say outside, to put extra pressure and put an extra label on the players who were already trying to do their best. "I don't think that helped at all, no. Then if he's right or wrong, whatever, but I think for us it was a bit of like, 'Oh, here we go again. Another headline.'" FOLLOW OUR MAN UTD FB PAGE! He tried to change things as you still see, tried to get it his way. "Certain players for certain positions, for a certain style of play, that's how he sees success. He has to change a lot because the players were not used to that system. "Also, historically, United always liked a different system. And yeah, he's been very honest and also, yeah, honest with me from the beginning. Very, very, very honest, I would say." Following Amorim's departure, United appointed Michael Carrick on a temporary basis. They have won eight of his 12 matches in charge, rising to third in the Premier League and practically securing Champions League qualification for next season. Eriksen, meanwhile, signed for German outfit Wolfsburg in the summer and is a regular starter in their line-up this campaign, recently wearing the captain's armband. The midfielder spent six months at Brentford between January and July 2022, as he returned to action following a cardiac arrest 18 months prior. He subsequently joined United, racking up a total of 107 appearances across three years with the club before departing on a free transfer in the summer.
