China, Russia envoys discuss Middle East tensions, call for ceasefire

Zhai Jun, the Chinese envoy, said regional tensions remain high with spillover effects becoming increasingly evident, drawing close international attention.
He noted that China and Russia, both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, support a ceasefire and the launch of dialogue and negotiations, and should work together to uphold international fairness and justice while helping ease tensions.
Ambassador Igor Morgulov said Russia is deeply concerned about the continued escalation and is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with China to make every effort to promote a ceasefire and safeguard regional peace and stability.
