Chargers address one of two pressing needs with edge rusher Akheem Mesidor

The Los Angeles Chargers entered this year’s draft with two pressing needs they had to address. In Thursday night’s first round, they crossed one off the list by selecting Miami edge rusher Akheem Mesidor with the No. 22 pick.It was a successful start to a crucial draft for general manager Joe Hortiz and coach Jim Harbaugh, who are still looking for their first playoff win with the Chargers. Odafe Oweh signed with the Washington Commanders in free agency. Mesidor is the replacement.
