Chaos in Botola Scheduling Raises Fears of an Incomplete Season

Rabat – The Moroccan professional league is facing another crisis in scheduling, exposing the lack of organization that has marked this season.

Clubs have effectively stopped playing, yet there has been no official announcement from the Professional Football League.

The issue is the absence of fixtures for Round 16. With no schedule in place, questions grow about how the rest of the season will be managed.

The problem is compounded by the fact that Moroccan clubs are preparing for the semi-finals of both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

These continental commitments make it nearly impossible to arrange new league rounds in the coming weeks. Some teams, like Raja and MAS, have even refused to play the second half of the season until all postponed matches are completed.

This situation leaves the league in a bind. Resuming domestic competition will only be possible after the end of the African tournaments, which risks extending the pause even further.

The delay also means that the second half of the season has not yet been scheduled, creating uncertainty for clubs, players, and fans.

The crisis is worsened by the continued absence of fixtures for Round 12’s postponed matches.

Without resolving these games, the league cannot balance the calendar or guarantee a fair competition. The longer this drags on, the harder it becomes to finish the season within a reasonable timeframe.

The stakes are high. Morocco is preparing for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup in the US, and the domestic league must be completed in time.

Failure to manage the calendar properly could damage the credibility of the competition and disrupt preparations for international commitments.

The league should either find a way to squeeze in the missing rounds despite continental obligations or risk leaving the season unfinished.

The lack of clear communication and planning has already frustrated clubs and supporters.

Each delay adds pressure and raises doubts about whether the league can deliver a complete and fair season.
