Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens Higher as MASI Gains 1.03%
المصدر: Morocco World News | Source: Morocco World NewsCasablanca – Casablanca’s stock market opened higher on Monday, with the benchmark MASI gaining 1.03% in early trading to reach 17,695.03 points, recovering after Friday’s slight dip.
The broader upward move was also reflected across the market’s other main indices. The MASI 20, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid listed companies, rose 0.78% to 1,326.9 points. The MASI ESG, made up of companies with the strongest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, posted a sharper increase of 1.52% to 1,234.9 points.
Smaller stocks were also firmly in positive territory. The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which measures small and mid-sized companies, advanced 1.5% to 1,829.15 points.
On the individual stock side, Lesieur Cristal recorded the strongest gain, climbing 7.42% to MAD 418.95. It was followed by Minière Touissit, up 6.92% to MAD 4,170, and IB Maroc.com, which added 6.35% to MAD 63.85. SMI also moved higher, gaining 4.14% to MAD 7,395, while Aradei Capital rose 3.63% to MAD 419.7.
Not all stocks shared in the rally. Involys posted the biggest decline among listed shares, falling 3.87% to MAD 131.6. Cartier Saada slipped 3.33% to MAD 29, while Microdata dropped 2.5% to MAD 780. Cash Plus lost 2.14% to MAD 274, and Stokvis Nord Afrique edged down 2.13% to MAD 69.
The positive start comes after the MASI ended Friday’s session with a marginal loss of 0.06%, suggesting a quick rebound in investor sentiment at the start of the week.
