
The Algerian Company for Export Insurance and Guarantee (CAGEX) has unveiled new details regarding export transaction insurance as part of the implementation of the Bank of Algeria’s new regulatory provisions governing current transactions with foreign countries and the financing of export operations. The company reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Algerian businesses in securing their international trade transactions.
According to a statement issued by CAGEX’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, under No. 272 dated August 20, 2026, and reviewed by Echorouk, a CAGEX guarantee is now required when the payment period granted to a non-resident customer exceeds 120 days, provided that it does not exceed 180 days. The measure also applies to export financing operations.
