Perez moved into points contention across Sunday afternoon’s incident-packed Grand Prix around the streets of the Principality, which featured multiple crashes, Safety Cars and a red flag. He eventually crossed the line in 10th place, earning Cadillac a valuable point, but was subsequently investigated for being out of position on the grid at the restart after the red flag. Once the stewards had looked into the matter, a 10-second penalty was sent in Perez’s direction, dropping the Mexican from P10 to P15 – the final finisher of the day.
