Bus crashes through front window of Notting Hill home after colliding with street furniture and two cars

Published: 10:38, 3 July 2026 | Updated: 10:46, 3 July 2026 A bus crashed through the front window of a home in West London after reportedly colliding with street furniture and two parked cars before mounting the pavement. The Transport for London (TfL) bus ploughed into the front of the property on St Quintin Avenue in Notting Hill on Thursday evening, leaving the vehicle embedded in the building. Emergency services rushed to the scene on July 2, with firefighters, police officers and other responders remaining at the site into the following morning. Images from the scene show the bus lodged in the front wall of the house, while the property's entrance sustained significant damage. The staircase leading to the front door was destroyed in the impact, and the home's front windows were shattered and dislodged. The cause of the crash is currently unknown. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: 'Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on Quintin Avenue in Notting Hill yesterday. 'Crews made the scene safe after a bus collided with street furniture and a terraced house. Two cars were also damaged in the collision. 'The Brigade was called at 19.12, and the incident was over for firefighters by 20.03. 'Two fire engines from North Kensington and Hammersmith fire stations and two fire rescue units from Chelsea and Croydon fire stations attended the scene.' The Metropolitan Police and Transport for London have been contacted for comment. No comments have so far been submitted.
