(IMF)-Dünya Bankası Bahar Toplantıları kapsamında Washington’da bulunan Nagel, basın mensuplarına yaptığı açıklamada, Alman ekonomisinin yıla iyi başlangıç yaptığını belirtti. Orta Doğu’daki gerilimin büyüme üzerinde fren etkisi oluşturduğuna dikkati çeken Nagel, IMF’nin Almanya için 2026 ve 2027 yılı büyüme tahminlerini 0,3’er puan aşağı yönlü revize ettiğini hatırlattı. Avrupa Merkez Bankası (ECB) Yönetim Konseyi Üyesi de olan Nagel, “Petrol fiyatlarındaki artış, büyümeyi yavaşlatacak ancak resesyon beklenmiyor. Şu aşamada bir resesyona girilmesi için çok büyük olumsuzlukların yaşanması gerekir.” değerlendirmesinde bulundu. Nagel, hükümetin mali teşvik paketinin yılın ilerleyen dönemlerinde ekonomi üzerinde olumlu etkiler yaratacağını vurguladı. Almanya Maliye Bakanı Lars Klingbeil de Orta Doğu’daki savaşın uzun vadeli etkilerine işaret ederek, “Reformlara ihtiyacımız var, eylem ihtiyacı aşikar.” görüşünü paylaştı. Öte yandan Alman basınında yer alan haberlerde hükümetin bu yılki gayrisafi yurt içi hasıla (GSYH) büyüme beklentisini yüzde 1’den yüzde 0,5’e düşürdüğü, enflasyon tahminini ise yüzde 2,1’den yüzde 2,7’ye yükselttiği iddia edildi.
