Britney Spears’ son Jayden breaks silence on singer’s rehab exit after rare public sighting

Britney Spears's son, Jayden Federline, was spotted by photographers outside the Laugh Factory comedy club in West Hollywood on Wednesday evening, where he was questioned about his mother following her recent departure from rehabilitation.

The 19-year-old declined to discuss the pop star's treatment stay, offering only a "no comment" to the press.

However, when TMZ pressed further, asking whether his mother was "doing good", Mr Federline gave an affirmative nod.

Ms Spears, 44, shares Mr Federline and his older brother Sean Preston, 20, with her former husband Kevin Federline.

The sighting came just two days after the singer reached a plea deal in her drink-driving case, with prosecutors agreeing to reduce the original charge to a “wet reckless” offence.

This is typically used in cases involving no previous convictions, low blood alcohol levels and no accidents or injuries.

Under the terms of the deal, Ms Spears must serve 12 months of probation and continue attending mental health and substance abuse treatment sessions.

Ventura County Superior Court Commissioner Matthew Nemerson imposed a $721 (£529) fine and ordered the singer to attend weekly psychologist appointments and see a psychiatrist twice monthly.

She is also prohibited from consuming alcohol or non-prescription drugs.

The original arrest took place on March 4 near Ms Spears' home in Los Angeles after police stopped her for allegedly weaving between lanes on a highway in Ventura, California.

Following the incident, the singer voluntarily admitted herself to a Southern California treatment facility in early April ahead of her court appearance.

Her lawyer, Michael Goldstein, stated that Ms Spears had accepted responsibility for her actions and made significant positive changes, which contributed to the reduced charge.

Sources say that since leaving rehabilitation, the singer has been taking precautionary measures, including using a chauffeur rather than driving herself.

The family had previously experienced a period of estrangement, with both sons relocating to Hawaii with their father in 2023.

However, Ms Spears reconciled with her children last year.

A source indicated that the singer felt "whole again" having her sons back in her life, describing herself as deeply grateful for their renewed presence.

Mr Federline spent Christmas 2025 with his mother, which is said to have strengthened their bond.

Ms Spears later shared a video with her youngest son on social media, writing: "Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing!" (sic)

The pop star was released from her nearly 14-year conservatorship on November 12, 2021, after a Los Angeles judge terminated the legal arrangement with immediate effect, giving the singer full control over both her personal life and her estimated $60 million (£44.5 million) fortune.

The conservatorship was established in February 2008 following a series of public mental health crises, with her father, Jamie Spears, petitioning for legal authority over her daily life, medical decisions, finances and career.

Public scrutiny surrounding the arrangement intensified in 2019 after Ms Spears took an indefinite break from work, leading to the rapid rise of the #FreeBritney movement, which gained worldwide attention following the 2021 documentary Framing Britney Spears.
