British security firm falls into administration – its clients include Mercedes

A security firm has entered administration in yet another blow to business in the UK. RK9 Security Services, headquartered in Manchester , appointed administrators last Wednesday according to The Gazette. The company works with clients across a number of sectors. The appointed administrators are Mike Dillon and Katy McAndrew, both from Leonard Curtis. According to the company's website, its clients include Mercedes , Bury Council, UK Locksmiths and Lambert Smith Hampton. The firm describes itself as a "leading security and enforcement company in the North West". It adds: "Our experienced, dedicated and fully licensed team are committed to understanding your unique security requirements and providing a service of the highest quality." No explanation has been given for the administration. However, Companies House records indicate the business had previously encountered financial difficulties, with the last accounts dating to October 2022 and a liquidator's statement of receipts and payments released in September last year. The firm also supported a Government agency in evicting 20 squatters from a multi-storey building that "had suffered extensive vandalism, including graffiti, stolen piping, and broken windows". The business holds an impressive 4.9 out of 5 rating on Google , based on 49 reviews. One satisfied client commented: "RK9 have provided security services at our vacant properties for over 2 years. They have provided key holding, emergency response to alarm triggers, weekly inspections, facilitating site visits and 24hr manned security when required. "The team, led by Ben, are always responsive, pleasant to deal with and knowledgeable. They have also provided swift assistance when we've faced 'unauthorised visitors' entering the site and RK9 are well equipped ( dogs ) and well trained (certified enforcement agents) to prevent situations from escalating and to evict in a short time frame." One of its clients received 80 bodyguards, high-definition cameras, surveillance drones, floodlights and K9 units as part of the firm's comprehensive, multi-layered security strategy, reports the Express .
