Boy, 15, missing since entering 'hazardous' lake in Lincoln as police continue search
Police are searching for a 15-year-old boy who has been missing since he entered a lake in Lincoln.
Emergency services were called to Swanholme Lakes at 2.30pm today after reports the boy had got into trouble in the water.
Lincolnshire Police said: "We have very sad news to share, that a 15-year-old boy has not been seen since entering the water at Swanholme Lakes in Lincoln, this afternoon.
"Emergency services were called to the area at 2.30pm on Sunday May 24, following reports of a boy getting into trouble in the water.
“Despite the very best efforts of people at the lake and the emergency services who arrived on scene, the boy has not yet been located.
“We continue to search the lake and our underwater search team will be assisting with this.
“We have informed the family of the boy and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.”
The force have urged against speculation about the incident, and said information that the boy had been found was wrong.

The statement added: "It is vitally important that people do not speculate or share information that is not accurate. Information that the boy has been found at this time is wrong. We will update our information when we can."
Swanholme Lakes is a local nature reserve and a nationally recognised Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

To allow emergency services to operate without disruption and maintain dignity, the public is asked not to visit or gather near Swanholme Lakes while the search continues.
Advice issued by Lincoln Council says the lakes are for wildlife only, and that swimming and paddling, by people or dogs, disturbs wildlife and can be dangerous and hazardous to health.
