Baltazar L’Quy, who was 14 years old, died in Oxford at around 5.45pm on Wednesday after "getting into difficulty". Emergency services were called to the incident at Donnington Bridge, but the teenager was confirmed dead at the scene. It also said that the boy's family has been made aware and is being looked after. It comes as 11 other people have tragically died in separate events after getting into difficulty in water at popular destinations throughout the heatwave. The Oxford Timorese Community Association said in an interview with the BBC it was a “very painful moment, not only for the family, but also for the Timorese community, in Oxford and across the United Kingdom”.
