Birmingham bin strike finally ends as union confirms deal with Council after months of negotiations
Union chiefs have confirmed a deal has been struck to end the Birmingham bin strikes after months of negotiations.
Lord Barber and West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker have confirmed the Birmingham bin deal was negotiated and agreed with union over months of negotiations.
The negotiations between Lord Barber, Mr Parker, former leader of Birmingham council John Cotton and Unite general secretary Sharon Graham began in December 2025 and the deal was concluded in March 2026.
Unite General Secretary Sharon Graham said: "As Lord Barber and Mayor Parker have both said, the deal to end this dispute has been negotiated and agreed."
