Popular online content creator Ashley regularly shares his top tips, having worked as a bin man for several years.‌Almost 169,000 people follow his TikTok page ( @Theno1.binman ). In a recent clip, the self-described “bin-fluencer” claimed that people should not be throwing a specific item into any of their bins due to the danger it could cause.‌In the video, he says people should avoid putting electric toothbrushes in any household bin. It might not seem important, but there is a major problem waiting to happen if this is hidden in your rubbish.‌He said: "You do not put them in your general waste bin, and you do not put them in your recycling bins because they have a rechargeable battery inside them. I know it's a faff, you have to then take them to a shop like Boots or Currys, or anything like that which sells small electricals."They sometimes have a bin outside, you can put them in that. You could alternatively take them to the tip, they have a small electrical bin or bay, you can put them there.
