Big Bang Theory favourite Kaley Cuoco announces second pregnancy as couple reveal baby's gender

Kaley Cuoco has announced she is expecting her second child with fiancé Tom Pelphrey.

The 40-year-old actress, renowned for portraying Penny in The Big Bang Theory, shared the happy news on Instagram on Wednesday.

Ms Cuoco and Mr Pelphrey, 43, best known for his role in Ozark, are already parents to three-year-old Matilda.

"Completing our little family, what a dream come true!" Ms Cuoco wrote in her post, confirming that their eldest daughter will soon become a big sister.

The announcement means Mr Pelphrey will remain a "girl dad for life".

The Instagram post featured a collection of photographs and videos documenting the pregnancy journey, with one image showing the family gathered around a large cake decorated with rainbow sprinkles.

A slice had been removed to reveal pink sponge inside, confirming they were having a girl.

Additional images displayed Ms Cuoco's growing baby bump, while footage captured Mr Pelphrey watching a 3D ultrasound scan with visible amazement.

Ms Cuoco acknowledged that this pregnancy had presented challenges, writing: "This second time around journey has been a little windier in many ways, but wow we are so grateful for this moment!!"

She jokingly noted that the final sonogram showed their unborn daughter "giving us the middle finger".

Mr Pelphrey shared his own post marking the occasion, writing: "Deep gratitude and joy - so much respect and admiration for @kaleycuoco on this journey of ups and downs."

He quipped about the sonogram image, explaining that when the doctor gave the baby a gentle prod, her immediate response was to raise her finger, adding: "Definitely my child."

Ms Cuoco also shared the announcement on her Instagram Story, accompanied by Justin Bieber's song Everything Hallelujah.

The couple have been together since 2022 after being introduced by their mutual manager, Andrea Pett-Joseph, who believed they would be well suited.

Ms Cuoco has previously described meeting Mr Pelphrey at the Ozark premiere as "love at first sight", recalling: "I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting."

The pair became engaged in August 2024, with Ms Cuoco sharing a selfie displaying her ring and captioning it simply: "Amazing weekend."
