2026YaoundeUlusal Bağımsız Seçim Komisyonu (CENA) tarafından yapılan açıklamaya göre, iktidar destekli aday Wadagni oyların yüzde 94,05'ini alırken, muhalefetin adayı Paul Hounkpe'nin oyları yüzde 5,95'te kaldı. Seçime katılım oranı, yüzde 58,75 olarak kaydedildi. Nihai sonuçların Anayasa Mahkemesi tarafından ilan edilmesinin ardından, mevcut Ekonomi ve Maliye Bakanı olan Wadagni, 7 yıllık görev süresine başlayacak. Muhalefetin adayı Hounkpe, resmi sonuçların açıklanmasını beklemeden yenilgiyi kabul ederek, Wadagni için tebrik mesajı yayımlamıştı. Ülkede 12 Nisan'da düzenlenen ve iki adayın yarıştığı cumhurbaşkanı seçimlerinde, iki dönem kuralı nedeniyle aday olamayan mevcut Cumhurbaşkanı Patrice Talon'un belirlediği halefi Romuald Wadagni ile muhalefetin adayı Paul Hounkpe yarışmıştı.
