Ollie Bearman believes that "we didn't really deserve" to take a point away from the Canadian Grand Prix, as the Haas driver salvaged tenth place after a difficult weekend. Haas brought a substantial upgrade package to Montreal and had hopes of challenging towards the front of the midfield, but both Bearman and team mate Esteban Ocon struggled to find performance. Neither driver challenged for points in Saturday's Sprint, while the pair lined up only P16 and P17 on the grid for Sunday's 68-lap race with the prospect of points looking difficult. The threat of rain and a low-grip surface made conditions challenging, though Bearman made up six positions before the end of the opening lap, which proved crucial. "Slippery, definitely very slippery," described Bearman when asked about the conditions. "Was tough, was definitely very challenging. I elected to start on the used soft just because I felt like it would help me probably on Lap 1, but we ended up doing like three formation laps so I probably didn't benefit very much from that." After a strong start and with retirements for the likes of Mercedes' George Russell, McLaren's Lando Norris and Williams' Alex Albon, Bearman was able to claim his third points finish in a Grand Prix this season. "Honestly, I feel like we didn't really deserve that today based on our performance but we'll take it," said Bearman. "There's been other weekends where we've probably felt like we deserved it a bit more and didn't get it. "Swings and roundabouts, but generally it's been a really challenging weekend for us, as I've been complaining about every interview. But to get points is good. "Bit unlucky, I think we could have got even more points honestly. We had a slow pit stop so we need to understand exactly why before Monaco."
